An investment of over £600,000 has been made in our fleet since the start of 2024.

This includes the acquisition of a number of tractor units and full steer trailers.

Another full steer trailer added to fleet

Investment continues with our 3rd full steer trailer purchased in 2024.
The new acquisition has been made to ensure we continue to provide a top class service to our customers.
Access to sites is getting tighter increasing the demand for full steer trailers..
Lymers now have an ever expanding variety of specialist trailers, flat steer ext, step steer ext, wafer decks, 3 and 4 axle lowbeds all full steer.
This is in addition to our vast selection of flats, urbans and curtain sided trailers.

Expansion in Hull to meet demand

Dec

Lymers Assist are expanding their storage facilities in the Hull area to meet increasing demand.
They have acquired an additional two-acre site to complement their existing operations in Hull and in the Midlands.
Director Alex Lymer said: “We are delighted to be able to offer increased storage solutions to our customers throughout the Hull area.
“This move is in direct response to meet the increased demand for secure flexible storage options.”
For suppliers and manufacturers there is often a need for that bit of extra storage space which Lymers can off on a flexible basis from just a few days to months at a time.
The storage solutions available have a number of security measures in place including 24-hour security guards, state of the art cameras and lighting facilities with 24-hour surveillance.

Fleet expansion and new vehicles in 2024

Jan

Investment in the fleet will see new vehicles join the Lymer’s Assist fleet in 2024.

A number of new tractor units will be added to the fleet throughout the year.

This investment comes after the firm was successful in expanding the number of vehicles it can operate on its ‘O’ licence.

Director Alex Lymer said: “We are looking forward to 2024 as the firm continues to expand and strengthen their position.

“By continuing to invest in our vehicles we are demonstrating our commitment to continuing to provide a first-class service to all our customers.”

FORS silver for Lymers

The team at Lymers Assist have successfully retained their FORS silver rating.


The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators.

FORS aims to drive up standards within fleet operations and demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice, focusing on safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.


Director Alex Lymer said: “Retaining the silver award is thanks to the hard work and dedication shown by the entire team.


“However, we now want to go one better and are looking at achieving the Gold standard.”

Congratulations Sam

This week has seen Sam Johnson reach five years’ service with Lymer’s Assist.

As an escort driver he works across the country supporting the movement of oversized loads.  

In recognition of reaching this milestone Sam was presented with a £750 holiday voucher and our good wishes.

Director Alex Lymer said: “Sam is a valued member of our team and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank him for his hard work, dedication and loyalty.”

This summer has also seen Sam win several awards in the best light commercial vehicle categories at truck shows across the country. Well done Sam.

New roles for Kim and Emma 

 

We are delighted to announce that Kim Clarke and Emma Lymer have taken on the additional role of Transport Manager.

Director Alex Lymer said: “They both already play important roles within the team and this move will see them take on additional responsibility which will support the further development of the business.”

 

The pair successfully completed all their CPC qualifications. Kim is General Manager while Emma is the Maintenance Manager.

New manager for Hull depot

Lymers Group are delighted to welcome Paul Wadsworth to the team.

He joins us to take on the role of Depot Manager for our Hull site, located on Rix Road.

 

From the site we offer a range of specialist haulage services and are also able to offer secure outdoor storage facilities, with 24-hour surveillance.

Lymers Group Managing Director Alex Lymer said: “We are pleased to be able to introduce Paul as our Depot Manager for our Hull site.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience in the sector and will take a leading role in liaising with our customers across the region.”

The move strengthens the company’s position as it continues to expand the range of services it provides across the haulage and storage sector.

In addition to the Hull site, the company also operate warehousing facilities close to the M1 and their headquarters in Alfreton.

Giving a helping hand to DIY SOS

We were very pleased to be able to offer our support to the team at DIY SOS.

The project was in support of Getaway Girls a great charity. Now knowing the story behind it we are so glad we could donate our time and effort.

A Mercedes 68 ton tractor unit has joined the increasing fleet of vehicles at Lymer's Assist.

Cover stars for latest issue

The new issue of Heavy Torque magazine features Lymer's Assist.

 

The January 2022 edition of the quarterly specialist magazine turns the spotlight on the company.

It charts the rise of the company and how Alex Lymer started out on his journey into heavy haulage.

New additions to the fleet

Another full steer trailer and four flats have been added to the fleet.

 

The investment ensures increased flexibility in the services we can privide.

Welcome to the team

Picking the right people to join the expanding team is a priority for Lymer's Assist Ltd.

 

Over recent weeks we have been able to welcome some new faces as well as welcome back a familiar face to join the company.

Managing Director Alex Lymer, said: "I now feel with the team we have, we can push on to another level. Having the right team around you makes the job enjoyable."

Since Simon Astle joined he had taken over the escort operation. While Graham Blood, who was involved with the company when it fist started has returned to manage some of the transport operations.

Top class addition to the fleet

A 150 ton tractor unit is the latest addition to our fleet.

The new addition will increase the firm’s capacity and the services on offer, joining their existing 65 and 80 ton units, hiabs and crane trailers.

Managing Director Alex Lymer said: “When we set up we had the vision of offering assistance to the haulage sector.

“My dream was to be able to offer the whole package.”

“The acquisition of a tractor unit about to haul 150 tonnes is another step on that journey.”
