Transporting oversized loads to locations across the UK is one of the services provided by Lymers Assist Ltd.

 

The load

​

The Pig Pens each 4.7 metres wide and 27.5 metres in length needed to be taken from the north of Scotland down to Southwest England.

 

​Planning

​

Due to the length of the journey the planning began some time in advance of the date of delivery to evaluate the potential routes and identify the best route. 

​

With complex deliveries our Project Managers examine potential routes which includes identifying possible pinch points and highlighting any potential trouble spots.

​

For this project we were in close liaision with numerous police forces including Police Scotland, Northumbria Police and Devon and Cornwall Police.

 

​The move

​

The loads were accompanied by our escort vehicles all the way down from Scotland with various police forces providing additional support when needed.

 

The location for final delivery was very rural which meant narrow winding roads had to be successfully navigated.
