Park Home - Westminster central London
Delivery with a difference
It is not often you are asked to complete a one-off delivery of a 42-foot park home into the heart of central London - but that is exactly what our team at Lymers Assist Lt were asked to do.
The load

The Omar Group ‘Newmarket’ park home measuring 12.31 metres long X 4.37 metres wide X 3.95 metres high was delivered and sited close to Westminster Abbey.

It was sited at the QEII Exhibition Centre in time for the Holiday and Residential Parks Association conference.

This was transported on a specialist all steering low-loader trailer.

Planning

Due to the extraordinarily complex process, of taking a park home into central London, planning began some time in advance of the date of delivery.

With complex deliveries our Project Managers examine potential routes identifying possible pinch points and highlighting any potential trouble spots.

For this project this also involved ensuring compliance with TfL's traffic rules and requirements.

Teamwork is a vital part of our success and on this occasion it also involved working alongside both Titans Siting and Transport and Callingtons Construction and Haulage.
We collaborated closely with the customer while liaising with numerous police forces including the Metropolitan Police and Thames Valley.

The move

The location meant there was a tight delivery window.
As well as being late at night and in very wet weather there were several unexpected challenges that had to be overcome.
These included being held up by accidents, diversions, a malfunction and even a heated protest with a vast number of police at Trafalgar Square.

The Project Manager team said: “This project was never going to be easy, simply due to the geographical location, close to Westminster Abbey.

“We faced additional complications on the night but thanks to a fantastic effort from all the companies involved it was a successful delivery.

“A lot of planning, an eventful journey, amazing teamwork and a positive outcome! It is one delivery we will never forget.”
